I've concluded that there are basically two things which bring me peace - the kind of peace that sort of sneaks up on you without fanfare. It just wafts over your head when you're not paying attention and silently sinks into your soul like a Northeastern fog.

Music and Nature. My two favorite things. I rarely listen to music now. I'm not sure why. Well, I guess the fact that my only speakers are the ones in my studio......(tragic eh?) If I want to hear music, I have to use headphones.

So occasionally, I go to sleep with headphones. But not very often. For something that brings me so much peace, I wonder why I don't facilitate it better.

Then there's nature. I was recently lucky enough to spend some time in the
South where the average daily temperature was 86 degrees. This is a place
where you can see Bald Eagles and Dolphins in one day. I stood at the edge of the Gulf of Mexico while a school of hunter fish drove their prey literally onto my feet. The conglomeration of birds standing behind me were pretty happy about this fortuitous event.

Nature

YES - I'M WORKING ON THE CD. I'm not just gallivanting throughout Jimmy Buffet-land, working on my melanoma. For the first time in my life, I'm emulating Kate Bush............ok...maybe not the FIRST time - what I'm referring to of course, is the amount of time passing between releases. Well, Kate Bush has a kid now....I have nothing like that for an excuse. However, I have been REALLY wrapped up in trying to get my cat on a diet. Truth is, I have to work to support myself and it's become quite a juggling act trying to schedule recording. Especially considering that it's not a one-person activity usually. There's coordinating with other people and players and frankly, a lot of time can pass before you're able to hold the next session. My vocals are already finished so it's about the other people now. There is still a lot of programming for me to do and it's up to me to make the time. I know there are plenty of you who know exactly how I feel right now. Lots of people hold down full-time jobs and still try to get recordings done.
I guess I have to really decide on the CD title too. So far, it's a toss-up
between "Will This Never Be Done?" and "I'm a Schlub"
