A few words from Ken:
I want to thank all of you for writing in and offering your spaces to Happy. Thanks also to those who've supplied tips for venues in different cities/states. It's all been so helpful.
It's probably time to expound on what I'm trying to do and why.
I am not a professional booking agent. Far from it. My line of work is so far removed from the music business that it seems absurd for me to be doing this. So why am I doing this? Because no one else is. Happy can't do this herself and frankly, she shouldn't have to. I wish that no artist had to do this for themselves. It's a tough, full-time job. This brings me to my next point. I already have a full-time job and it's difficult at best, for me to work booking HR shows into my schedule. Again, I'm doing it because she needs the help.
I've received some criticisms lately, concerning how I'm going about booking HR's tour. That's to be expected I guess, but I just wanted you all to know that despite my inexperience, I mean well. I'm doing the best I can and honestly, if anyone wanted to help out or take over certain areas, I'd welcome it. That doesn't seem very likely though, so with your support, I'll cheerfully continue on as best as I can.
Whenever possible, please have patience.

News:
Well, Happy played her first concert in about 2 years (since her finger
surgery). It went very well and we have some pics for you. They are from
Bob's perspective of course, (Bob Muller is the Hand Drummer working and performing with HR). There are additional pics that you can access at
www.smoe.org/jeffw/gallery/100. Those are courtesy of Jeff Wasilko.

Happy is busy with the minutia of finishing the CD and planning the tour in
the Fall. You must all keep checking with us for tour dates, as I'm not sure
if we will send out notices via email.

There are issues concerning the tour - that is, we do not currently have
enough potential house concert hosts to warrant HR going to places like
California, Texas, Illinois, Florida and other important areas. Let me try to
be more specific: We have enough offers for San Francisco, but nothing for the L.A. area. We have only one offer each in the states of MA, CT, PA, VA, NC, SC, NM, NE, GA, OR, IL and KS. There are many many states in which we have NO current interest or offers. We'd like to try to get some more interest in the following areas; Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, NYC or NY state, DEFINITELY the Los Angeles area and north to San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, Delaware, TEXAS, New Mexico, Arizona, Illinois and Michigan.

There are 30 offers to host a house concert and they are spread across the
U.S. very spottily. HR wants to be able to hit all of those areas. We have
official venues to look into as well, but Happy would prefer to have the
focus more on the house concert scene.

So PLEASE, if you haven't weighed in yet with an offer to host a show, do so. We need to solidify this tour and I'm really hoping more opportunities crop up so we can get Happy to those place in the U.S. where people haven't been able to see her live. Additionally, if you can offer lodging to Happy and her two bandmates, please let us know. Even if you can't host a show, lodging will help HR tremendously.
As always, email me at kosterhaudt@aol.com.
And remember, if you've already made an offer, no need to respond. We have you on our list.

Be aware also, that another Will Ackerman collaboration will be happening
soon...
