NEWS (May/June 2001)

If you read Happy's latest thoughts on the MANY WORLDS page, then you already know that Happy badly cut her left hand. She severed a tendon and had surgery to re-attach it. She is doing well and hopes to make a full recovery. There will be a lot of physical therapy required though, if she is to play guitar again.

Happy has a scheduled appearance with "Project Lo" on July 14th and 15th. The injury hopefully won't affect that, as she usually doesn't play guitar in that lineup anyway. All interested should be sure to check www.lolorecords.com for tour info.

Ectofest West was a screaming success (grown people shouldn't be allowed to have that much fun). Shelly DeForte organised it, with the help of Michael Schneider and numerous other folks. If you weren't able to make it out to CA for the show, have a look at the pictures Happy took......then go to http://www.smoe.org/meth/gallery to see some more.

Work will resume on Happy's album now that she's back home recovering. She says she needs to make time to write a few more songs. During the Samson Music thing, she'd written enough for almost two albums but the material is not reflective of where Happy is.

Happy's been writing with another artist and their album is slated for a Fall release on Windham Hill. More info on that as details become available. Meanwhile, look for Percy Howard's "Meridiem" scheduled for release in September. Happy co-wrote and sang two songs on that but the album is very sonically interesting and you might want to check it out regardless of Happy's participation.

There is an album called, "Dectopia", which is a 10 year anniversary commemorative of "Ecto" the electronic mailing list. It's a compilation of Happy cover songs, done by her listeners. If you're interested in purchasing this or learning more about it, go to http://home.earthlink.net/~foghornj/ecto10.
